Silicate Minerals are rock-forming minerals made up of silicate groups. They are the largest and most important class of minerals and make up approximately 90 percent of Earth’s crust. Silicon dioxide, also known as silica with the chemical formula SiO2 usually considered a silicate mineral. It is most commonly found in nature as mineral quartz and its polymorphs. Although Silicon is an abundant element, but it is mostly locked up in crystalline form and plant available Silica is only available from are amorphous Silica.
